Development Aims

In the short term we aim to improve the standard of our whole club. We hope to get more juniors in the Sussex squads and then have a few representing Sussex.

We currently have 7 mens teams, 3 Ladies and 4 juniors. We also enter age events in the national club finals as well as the racketball tournament. We would hope to improve the level that we enter and also improve the number of events and teams we enter.

The targets set by England Squash & Racketball in their Strategy 2008- 2013 show us the way forward.

ESR 1.1 Increase participation, Accessibility and Membership
DSRC - Try to meet target increases of 5% more men, 15% more women and 15% more Black & Minorities

ESR 1.2 Increase membership
DSRC - Improve types of membership to attract more people

ESR 1.3 School age children with access to squash & racketball
DSRC - Increase the availability of Mini Squash and school access to junior coaching programme

ESR 1.4 Squash to become one of the best known sports
DSRC - More advertising and publicity in the local paper, hold open days etc...

DSRC - Improve the current coaching standard and increase the coach number
