This season, as last, has been entered into fully by everyone. It started with entries into the Sussex Closed by some of the squad participants. Most of them had a very hard time, found themselves a little out of their depth and out played. One came back smiling in defeat but the others came back to squads thoroughly disappointed.

However, lessons had been learned! The next week of squads was attended by a group of juniors with a completely different mindset - they now listened more and really wanted to practice alley play and length shots rather than the slightly more fancy- looking and exciting cross court nicks. Good length and width seemed to work for the others at thetournament so that's what they wanted to concentrate on. At last!!!
 
I'm pleased to say that they have continued through the rest of the season with this enthusiasm to improve.

Last season Or and Nicholas two of our mini squash group progressed into our squads and I hope there will be two more early next season. We have two of our boys and one girl attending Sussex Squads, Jack, Jake and Beth with another girl, Hermione, from Mini Squash having recently been invited to attend. This is a good sign for the
future of our club.

The end of season BBQ was again a great success with the parents relaxing while the children had fun.

We all look forward to improvement next season in the Sussex Closed tournament and more smiles than disappointments.
